Imagine a forest in a landscape covered in fresh snow. What a great setting for a hike up to the sledging hut with your children, friends or partner. During the walk, why not pass some time having a snowball fight or just listening to the sounds of nature – it’s all great fun, especially for the young and young at heart.
When you reach the mountain hut at the top, you can warm up with mulled wine for the adults and fruit punch for the little ones. And of course, if your stomach is rumbling after the long walk, you can satisfy that, too. How about a traditional Tyrolean Gröstl (fried potato, bacon and onion), a Wiener Schnitzel or, to finish off with, a delicious Kaiserschmarrn (pancake dessert)? After this feast, you might want a drop of schnapps to aid the digestion before the real fun begins: “sledging back down”!
