Start your walk at the village square in Seefeld and follow the road as far as the main road, then turn right along the side of the Wildsee. Just past the Seestüberl, you’ll come to Seefeld’s Kneipp walk, and then continue on into “Squirrel Wood”, where the tame little animals love being fed by hand (tip: always take a few nuts with you!). After that, the path takes you along the southern shore, past the Seefeld-Reith golf course and back by the side of the lake to Seefeld. If you need some refreshments by the lake, we recommend the cafe/restaurant Strandperle with its lovely sunshine terrace and the chance for a swim in the summer.
Takes: approx. 50 minutes
Take the funicular railway from the valley station up to the Rosshütte. When you reach the top, you walk over the ridge to the Lifthüttl. Follow the path to Latschen, which takes you to the Reither Kar. Take care here, because the terrain is a little more difficult. After a short climb up to the Hochanger, the path takes you back downhill and via the ski slope to the Reither Alm mountain pasture. From there a forest trail takes you back to Seefeld. The level of difficulty for this tour is moderate to difficult.
Takes: approx. 3.5 hours
This hike takes you from the Seefelder Joch to the Seefelder Spitze (2,220 m), boasting 360° views of the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountain ranges, the Stubai Alps and northwards as far as Bavaria. Then the walk continues to the Reither Spitze right up at 2,373 m, and on to the Nördlinger mountain hut. This hike can be very challenging in places. You need to have a good head for heights and be very surefooted, because on the high-alpine terrain on the way up to the Reither Spitze there are some difficult stretches where you can only continue by holding on to a steel rope or climbing a ladder. Then after a few minutes you reach the Nördlinger mountain hut. From there it’s only about 45 minutes’ walk to the Härmelekopfbahn cable car. That takes you to the top station at Rosshütte.
Takes: approx. 3 hours (net walking time)
